Past first dates

I think today needs a theme song and Europe's The Final Countdown seems very totes apropes. I thought instead of taking hours going through why I'm this and that about tonight and bore the very marrow of life out of you, I will, hopefully, make you smile at past first dates. Past First Date #1: We had emailed, talked on the phone, he showed up to Starbucks, looked me up and down, and just said; "No", and left. I got back in line for that donut. Past First Date #2: We have our coffees at Starbucks, sitting in big, fluffy chairs - side-by-side - he asks if he can stroke my hair. He has never seen something so beautiful in all his life. I think; "Why not? Stroking is harmless when it is on your head." Nope. He asked, I think 20 or so more times. The best part is on the way home (oh did I tell you I let him coax my number out of me - yeah real smart) he called and asked what my lingerie size was. I pulled my Jeep over so fast and blocked that number the people behind me must have thought I had to pee. Past First Date #3: At Starbucks again, he shows up, we order, he sits down and hands me a mix CD (yes, if there are anyone here reading this born later than 2000 we used to RECORD SONGS onto things called CD's which look like little dinner plates) of songs from the 80's. OMG - what a way to my heart. / / You might ask; "What is it with Starbucks?!" Well, my Starbucks theory is that (1) it has great beverages and food (2) it is safe (3) open late, but not too late so I can get home at a decent hour and seem "mysterious" (4) it is cheap so you don't have all that strangeness of who pays and who does not - you are each in line - you each pay - duh (5) and if the guy sucks I can drink a hot coffee in 20 minutes or less. You can't do that at a restaurant. And if you are at a bar there is alcohol involved - that is dangerous on so many levels - you are all adults - you have lived them. Well, I will leave you with this. I am really excited about tonight and I don't have any expectations.
